Business South was held at The Rose Bowl, Southampton this year, and with it being just on our doorstep, I thought I’d pop along both days to see what was on offer.
Throughout both days, various seminars and workshops were taking place in the suites. One of the highly-interactive, topical debates was on ‘How to get to no1 on Google’. Attendees were sat in groups and invited to discuss what they have done to help them appear higher in Google rankings. It was interesting to see how many different businesses have all tried and tested different ways and they all knew what worked for them
Another debate was titled ‘Getting results from Social Media’, and was attended by a few industry experts. There are so many different social media sites with different and distinct uses and benefits, but essentially they are all there to promote products and businesses, recruit members of staff and maintain a dialogue with your internal, industry and consumer audiences. The importance of keeping your profile active on social media sites was a hot topic of conversation.
In addition to the seminars it was nice to walk the floor and meet businesses we already have a relationship with, put faces to names of suppliers we have been dealing with and meet new people from all over the South.
In an uncertain economic climate, both days were pleasantly uplifting with enthusiasm and positive expectations for the coming year evident in every industry sector represented there. It reinforced MediaQuest’s belief that we really do live and work in one of the best part’s of the UK.
